2018 saw some new additions to my collections and sadly the demise of others.
The most notable addition is the Sequoia that I purchased from the Dutch Garden Centre, a four tree collection in a fairly deep round bowl. It needs some work and will need re-potting and root pruning in the spring as I have noticed roots popping out the bottom of the pot. This may be a challenge because of the shape of the bowl.
The Olive tree that was re-potted in the spring is coming along nicely and has an interesting shape following some minor pruning and seems quite healthy.
The Hazel and the Oak gathered from the wild are developing quite well, although the Oak died back at the end of the summer and then new leaves started growing just before the autumn, they of course, have fallen off, so I am waiting to see what happens to this little tree in the spring, is it alive or not?
